Privacy & cookies

The short version: Skyhooked has no user accounts, no advertising, and no analytics trackers. We store your preferences in first-party cookies on your own device, and we ask for your consent before enabling the affiliate tracking that lets shops know we referred you. We never sell or share personal data.

Cookies we set

All cookies are first-party. The preference cookies contain settings, not identifiers:

• skyhooked_consent — Remembers your choice in the tracking-consent banner (6 months).
• ship_country — Your ship-to country, for delivered-price estimates (1 year).
• street_size / shoe_sizes / size_unit — Your street shoe size(s) and preferred size system, for sizing estimates (1 year).
• compare_shoes — The shoes you pinned for comparison (1 year).
• fav_shoes — The shoes you saved as favourites (1 year).
• locale_region / locale_lang — Region and language preference (1 year).

Preference cookies are strictly functional: they exist only to make a feature you used work, and are set when you use that feature.

Affiliate-click tracking (consent required)

When you click "visit shop", you leave Skyhooked for the retailer's site through an affiliate network (for example Awin). If you accept tracking in our consent banner, the network sets a cookie on its own domain so the shop can attribute your purchase to Skyhooked and pay us a commission — this is how the site is funded, and it never changes your price. If you decline, we tell the network not to set tracking cookies; you can still use every link and every feature. You can change your choice any time by clearing the skyhooked_consent cookie in your browser.

When you click out, we also count the click in our own log (which offer was clicked, when, and whether tracking consent was given) — no IP address, no identifier, nothing tied to you.

Server logs

Like practically every website, our server keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, request path, time) for security and debugging. They are deleted on rotation and used for nothing else. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing — write to the contact above. You can also complain to a supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). Since we hold no account data about you, most requests will simply be resolved by clearing your cookies.
